We take data protection very seriously. We collect and process personal data, which is why we have adopted this privacy policy, describing how we process personal data.  

Step A/S, a subsidiary of Jysk Fynske Medier P/S, is responsible for the information we collect about you. We ensure that the personal information is collected and processed in accordance with the law.  

We share the information with Jysk Fynske Medier P/S and Jysk Fynske Medier’s subsidiaries, Guloggratis.dk A/S, Deal.dk A/S, Spot A/S (Spotdeal), Billund Ugeavis, Ugeavisen Esbjerg, Ugeaviserne af 15/6 2017 , Helsingør Dagblad A/S and Hovedstadens Mediehus A/S, and are joint data controllers with these.

If our processing of your personal data covered by the personal data legislation takes place on the basis of your consent, you have the right to withdraw your consent at any time. If you choose to withdraw your consent, it does not affect the legality of our processing of your personal data based on your previously given consent and up to the time of the withdrawal. Therefore, if you withdraw your consent, it will only take effect from this time.

When you visit our websites, we, and our affiliates, collect information about you and your equipment, which is used in order to recognize visitors, remember settings, perform analysis, operate the website, customize and improve our content and features to make these more personal and relevant to you. This is done by using cookies.  

Our partners can also use their cookies in anonymised format for analysis for their own purposes. You can read more about the different cookies by clicking “Cookie settings” at the bottom of the current page.

We typically collect and process the following information: 

Technical information about your computer or mobile device, including which browser you are using:

  • Your IP address
  • Geographical location 
  • Pages you click on 
  • To the extent that you create a user and log in: The information you provide us. These are never passed on to third parties 

We process the information on the basis of our legitimate interest in adapting and improving our content, functions and advertisements, cf. the nature of the Data Protection Regulation. 6 pieces. 1, letter f, and we collect and process the information for marketing on the basis of your consent, cf. the data protection regulation art. 6, 1. point a.

When you visit our websites, a pop up will greet you, in which you can choose to give consent to the collection of information and use of cookies. If you do not wish to consent to the use of unnecessary cookies, you can continue to use the editorial websites by paying for our content or by logging in if you are already a subscriber. Once you are logged in as a subscriber, you choose whether you want to give consent to this. You can always withdraw your consent, taking effect from then on.  

If you no longer want the above mentioned collection and processing, you should change your cookie settings and stop using the pages if you do not want to pay for the content.

Recipients of our newsletters 

We collect and process the following personal information when you sign up for our newsletters:

  • Email address 
  • Contact information, e.g. name, postal code/city, subscription number, member’s club to the extent that you state this yourself 
  • Behavioral information. When we send newsletters as e-mails, a cookie is placed so we can see whether you have opened the newsletter and if you have used direct links in the newsletter
  • Interests 

We send the newsletters and use your contact information on the basis of express consent from you, cf. the nature of the Data Protection Regulation. 6, 1 part a and the Marketing Act § 10.

You have the right to withdraw your consent and unsubscribe from our newsletters at any time, taking effect from the on.

We also process personal data based on a legitimate interest in processing your information about interests and behavior (whether you have opened the newsletter) for marketing purposes, cf. the nature of the Data Protection Regulation. 6. 1, part f. 

We use this information to send you newsletters, keep us informed about the number of subscribers, marketing, improving our communication and for analytical/statistical purposes.   

At the bottom of all newsletters is a direct link to unsubscribe from the newsletter. If you unsubscribe from the newsletter, you will no longer receive the newsletter and we will delete your email address in the contact list used to send out the newsletters. We store information necessary to be able to document your subscription and your consent to the newsletter for 2 years after unsubscribing in order to be able to prove and document that we have sent out the newsletters legally, cf. the nature of the Data Protection Regulation. 6. 1, part c and art. 17, § 3, part e, cf. the Penal Code § 93. 1, No. 1. 

General information about the processing of the information we collect 

We take good care of your personal information. The information we collect about you is stored and processed in accordance with the applicable law at all times.  

In most cases, whether you want to give us personal information or consent to collection is voluntary. If you do not want to share your personal information or consent to the collection of the personal information, it may affect your experience in various ways depending on your activity or wishes.  

We have taken appropriate technical and organizational measures against the personal data being accidentally or illegally deleted, published, lost, degraded or come to the knowledge of unauthorized persons, misused or otherwise processed in violation of the law.  

We only collect, process and store personal information that is necessary in relation to the stated purpose. In addition, applicable law, contracts or other legal obligations may require us to process certain types of information.  

As our service is dependent on correct and up-to-date information, we ask you to inform us of relevant changes to your information. You can use the contact information to notify us of changes, after which we will update your information. If we ourselves become aware of incorrect information, we will update the information ourselves, to the extent we are aware of this, and then notify you of this.  

We retain the information for as long as it is necessary to fulfill the stated purpose and as long as it is required by applicable law. When the purpose has been fulfilled and the information is no longer necessary, we will delete the information to the extent that the law does not require us to store the information for a longer period. 

We may share your information with affiliates who use it for targeted advertising on our behalf. In addition, we use a number of external companies for storage and processing of data. These companies process the information solely on our behalf and only with clear written instructions from us, and only to the extent necessary to fulfill the stated purpose. Companies may not use the information for their own purposes.  

As a rule, Step A/S and Jysk Fynske Medier do not transfer your personal information to countries outside the EU/EEA. However, we use Active Campaign and Responsys as a data processor in the USA, based on the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.  

Your right

You have several rights in connection with our processing of information about you. Some of the rights may be limited by legal obligations and other legislation to which we are subject or because the processing is not covered by the data protection legislation.

Right of acces

You have the right to access the information we process about you, as well as additional information, including where we have the information from, what we use it for, how long we store it and who we share it with.  

Correction 

You have the right to have incorrect information about yourself corrected.  

Deletion

In certain cases, you have the right to have information about you deleted before the time of our regular, general deletion occurs. 

Limitation of treatment 

In certain cases, you have the right to have the processing of information about you restricted. If you have the right to have the processing restricted, from then on we may only process the information – apart from storage – with your consent, or for the purpose of establishing, enforcing or defending legal claims, or to protect a person or important public interests. 

Objection 

In certain cases, you have the right to object to our otherwise lawful processing of information about you.  

Data portability (Right to transmit information) 

In certain cases, you have the right to receive your personal information in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format, as well as to have this personal information transferred from one data controller to another without hindrance, to the extent that it is technically possible for us and if the information is collected on the basis of your consent or in connection with a contract / agreement you have entered into with us.

You can contact us if you believe that we process personal information about you in violation of applicable law or other legal obligations.

When you contact us with a request to have personal information about you corrected or deleted, we will check whether the conditions for this are met, in which case we will implement changes or deletion as soon as possible.
